National Mentoring Month (NMM) was established in 2002 by the Harvard School of Public Health and MENTOR:  The National Mentoring Partnership. The purpose of NMM is to bring awareness to the need for mentors and the positive impact it poses on a young person life.

Mentoring doesn’t require any special skills–just an ability to listen and to offer friendship, guidance, and encouragement to a young person growing up today.  And you’ll be amazed by how much you will get out of the experience.

At the United Way of Northwest Louisiana along with the Mentoring Partnership of Northwest Louisiana, we encourage everyone to become a mentor.

To learn more about mentoring, The Mentoring Partnership makes it easy for a caring adult to become a mentor by connecting interested individuals to one of the many mentoring programs in Northwest Louisiana. Find out how to get involved by calling United Way at 677-2504.
